As a mom of three kids, I have forgotten that it was school picture day more times than I care to admit.
In the midst of all the lunch making, schedule coordinating, back pack packing, shoe putting on chaos, school picture day can often slip through the cracks in busy parents' minds. It can be easy to dismiss it as something that can be worried about next year or that just doesn't matter. Today we're going to chat about why school photos do matter.
Seeing Your Child Grow Year to Year
When you see your child every day, it is hard to notice how much they are really growing. Yes, you might have to buy new shoes or pants because of a growth spurt, but you don't always see how their face is changing from year to year. By investing in school photos, you will have a ready made touch point of how your child has changed each year. Personally, when I compare photos of my oldest from the beginning of his kindergarten year to the end of it, it is like a different child in each picture. He grew so much in maturity and you can see it in his photos. I knew he was growing emotionally that whole year, but I did not really see the physical changes as they were happening slowly each day of that year.
A Chance for your Kids to be Photographed Together
One of the services that I am able to offer as a School Photographer is the ability to take photos of your children together on school photo day. Depending on the size of the school, this may occur during the school day or immediately before or after school, but it is a wonderful opportunity to have a photo of your children together. And bonus, because you are not the one taking it, there is a better chance that they will actually look like they like each other in the photo! (I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to have siblings get along for school photos!)
Print and Digital Images Easily Available to You
Once you receive your images after picture day, you will have access to an online, password protected gallery. There you will be able to locate your child's class and individual gallery. Inside that gallery you can wonder at how much your child has grown and how they actually look like they like their sibling! Also there, you can place your order to keep these memories to compare each year. I offer digital images and print images in my school galleries. You will be able to select exactly which images you want in the sizes that you want. No need to order poses you don't like (but I think you'll like them all!) in sizes you don't need. All the digital images are emailed directly to you and print orders placed by the school deadline are hand delivered to my DFW area schools. My hope is to make this process easy for you in midst of everything you have going on as parents.
